SYP GLASS GROUP CO., LTD., abbreviated as SYP Group, was established in 1983. It became one of the first listed glass manufacturers in China with its IPO completed in 1993. SYP Group is engaged and committed to constant and continuous manufacturing improvements through further research and development in areas related to high performance, energy efficiency, safety and environment friendly, such as Low-E coatings, solar power system and insulated glass units. By the end of 2010, the total assets of SYP Group reached RMB 6.4 billion and the sales over RMB 2.6 billion.

 

In terms of the Flat Glass Business, SYP Group have four controlled subsidiaries in Tianjin and Changshu Site, including Tianjin SYP Glass Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Pilkington SYP Glass Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Huadong Glass Co., Ltd., Changshu Special Glass Co., Ltd., with the products ranging from high end auto raw glass, online Low-E coated glass, TCO and low iron rolled glass series. SYP Group actively supported the state policies to minimize the “carbon footprint”, save energy and reduce pollution, added more values to its products and promote the upgrade of the whole industry.

 

In terms of the architectural processing business, SYP Group have three production bases in Shanghai, Tianjin and Guangdong, including SYP Building Glass Co., Ltd., SYP Engineering Glass Co., Ltd., Tianjin SYP Engineering Glass Co., Ltd. and Jiangmeng SYP Engineering Glass Co., Ltd., with the products covering coating, double glazing, laminating, tempering, and Low E glass.

 

SYP Glass can be found throughout the world in many of the world’s renowned buildings such as New Tokyo Tower, Korea North-East Asia Trading Tower, German Frankfurt AirRail Center, Hong Kong International Commercial Center, and the California Academy of Science in San Francisco, and AL-Hamra Tower Kuwait. Although Shanghai is all but literally covered in SYP Glass, one merely need look to the skyline of Pudong to see SYP Glass products at their best in the magnificent Shanghai World Finance Center. Many of these landmark “GREEN” buildings throughout the world represent new and exciting times for energy saving.

 

In terms of Auto Glass Business, SYP Group held stakes in SYP Kangqiao Autoglass Co., Ltd. It engages in the research, design, development, and manufacture of auto glass and relative products in china and intentionally. Its products include laminated glasses that include windshield and door glass; tempered glasses, such as door, sun roof, and backlite glasses; PU extrusions; and other glass assemblies. It has become qualified supplier of international auto makers such as Shanghai GM, Shanghai VW, US Ford, PSA Peugeot Citroen and South Korea Hyundai.

 

During its growth and development, SYP Group kept improving its management ability. In March 1994, SYP became the first glass plant in China whose quality management system was certified by SGS as meeting the ISO9002 requirements. In July 2000, SYP passed the ISO14001 assessment conducted by SGS and became the first glass manufacturer in China who obtains the internationally acknowledged green pass. Now its products successively passed a series of international certifications, and it has formed strong new products R&D abilities. The SYP trademark was awarded Shanghai Famous Trademark, China Top Brand Products and Certificate for Product Exemption from Quality Surveillance Inspection. Years of efforts improved the company’s production efficiency and economic benefits, which were higher above other counterparts. The Company has been listed among the Top Ten Joint Venture in China for three times and the best Profit-making and Fore-ex Earning Joint Ventures in China since 1989.
